“Shepilevsky”—an interpretation of Stalinist Empire style
One of my goals is to shoot all the iconic projects and locations in the cities where Whitewill sells real estate. Through photo stories, I try to capture the atmosphere and architectural details of these locations to help our clients find the right place to live or invest.
“Element” decided to draw inspiration from the legacy of one of the district’s leading architects—Modest Shepilevsky. He designed the House of Soviets on Moskovskaya Square. This residential buildingwas namedin his honor.
The architects reimagined the aesthetics of the Stalinist Empire style. Beige stone with trendy dark accents. Strict symmetry. A powerful silhouette. Arches and striking cornices.
The project is located on quiet Altai Street. It’s just a couple of minutes’ walk to the “Moskovskaya” metro station.
This is one of St. Petersburg’s most cohesive neighborhoods. Wide avenues. Monumental architecture. Large parks. It has the feel of spacious Moscow compared to the dense historic buildings of the city center.
